Infographic: What Are The Odds Of Winning The Lottery? Bleak At Best

It’s a bit unfortunate, but the odds aren’t just against you, they’re also calling up their bulkiest lads and rounding up a posy with the sole intention of making sure you don’t win the lottery. Life can be a b***h sometimes.

So we decided to do some research into what else was more likely to happen and throw it all into a cool infographic for you. Here we have our personal favourite facts of what is more likely to happen to you than winning the lottery, but before that, here are some of my favourites that we left out.

  • Your child becoming a genius: 250/1
  • Losing an appendage to a chainsaw: 4,464/1
  • Finding a four leaf clover: 10,000/1
  • Drowning in your bathtub: 685,000/1
  • Becoming an astronaut: 12,100,000/1

And, as much as this is less likely to happen than winning the lottery, my absolute favourite statistic.

  • Being hit by a meteor: 182,138,880,000,000/1

So those are my own favourites, although I’m now curious on how you measure the odds of being hit by a meteor…

Either way, here are the rest of the facts for you to amuse yourself with. See what is more likely to happen to you than winning the lottery!

Just a quick note, I think the odds of dating a super-model might drop a bit once you’ve won the lottery.

I hit 5/6 numbers on the Lotto with the Mrs. a couple of years back.. Landed me £1400, but just knowing that it was only 44/1 to getting a whopping £4million is insane! I think it works out that the odds of matching 5 numbers is 228826080/1? Correct me if i’m wrong! 49*48*47*46*45?!
